Has anyone else ever noticed that the only ones talking about reaching out and trying to find common ground with those who don’t share their views is only coming from those who are center-left in their orientation? To date, I have never seen a conservative commentator or read any right-leaning pundits advocating doing likewise. Has anyone else?
It’s interesting - I broadly speaking agree that the center left is more interested in common ground, but as part of the book launch I’ve had some conversations with conservatives who also want to be able to talk more constructively. The challenge imho is that I think Trump/Miller/MAGA elites are fanning the flames so I don’t want to draw a false equivalence. But I also think as the party that lost the popular vote recently and has the senate rigged against us we need to make the tent bigger whether or not it’s reciprocated. As a matter of strategy.
